HTC ARIA root for dummies/help

So I'm new and have been several places to see how to root and it is soso confusing... if it explains anything I am a 3 year iPhone user ... jailbreak was simple... I need a walk-through for dummies (literally walk-through st ep by little step because I don't get hardly any of it) I have my HTC aria with at&t and everything is already backed up ready to go cause I understand it will erase everything . Please help, and I promise any instructions u post in my mind can't be smart_add ones because I don't understand , I basically am working to get SWIPE, turn phone into WiFi hotspot, teathering, and live wallpaper ( I understand live wallpaper can be tricky so that is the odd one out)
